The first witness

Until this point, the ENI'S WAY – 25 YEARS OF TRUTH series has presented, in chronological order, the events that culminated in my dismissal after I reported serious irregularities within Eni's Brazilian subsidiary.

Starting today, the series enters a new phase.

In addition to documentary evidence, it will now present the statements of people who personally witnessed those events.

The first is Mateus de Campos Martins, one of the sales consultants who was part of the Cuiabá Regional Sales Office team and worked directly with me during that period.

In his statement, Mateus describes a sequence of events that is fully consistent with the chronology presented throughout this series.

According to his testimony:

🔹 After becoming aware of facts that could seriously damage AGIP Brazil's reputation, he immediately reported them to his direct supervisor, Douglas Flinto.

🔹 Before taking any action, Douglas Flinto sought to independently verify those facts with Aldo Locatelli, then President of the Fuel Retailers Association of the State of Mato Grosso (Sindipetroleo Mt).

🔹 After that confirmation, Douglas Flinto formally reported the matter to the management of Eni's Brazilian subsidiary.

🔹 A few weeks later, after an internal audit had been conducted at the Cuiabá Regional Sales Office, Douglas Flinto was dismissed.

This statement was not written by me.

It is the voluntary statement of a professional who personally witnessed those events and formally recorded them through a Public Notarial Declaration.

For the past twenty-five years, I have never asked any of the six different
Eni Boards of Directors to accept my version of events.

I have asked for only one thing:

📌 an independent, objective and transparent review of the existing documentary evidence.

That evidence consists of official correspondence, corporate documents, judicial decisions, public records and witness statements such as Mateus's.

Every document published in this series has a single purpose:

🛑 to allow the facts to be examined within their proper historical and chronological context.

Because history deserves to be reconstructed.

And from now on, it will not be only the documents that speak for themselves.

The witnesses will too.
