Why doesn't Eni investigate?

After more than two decades analyzing this story, I have reached a simple conclusion.

The central issue has never been who is right.

The real question is something else.

📌 Why has Eni never allowed the facts to be subjected to an independent investigation?

Over the years, the company has presented its version of events.

🔹 That version has been repeated in official documents.

🔹 It has been used in legal proceedings.

🔹 It has been communicated to shareholders and stakeholders.

But a statement, by itself, is not a substitute for an investigation.

Especially when there are documents, testimonies and evidence pointing to a different version of the facts.

✔️ If Eni’s position is truly solid, an independent investigation should confirm it.

✔️ If the documents I have presented have no value, an independent investigation should demonstrate it.

✔️ If the official narrative reflects reality, an independent investigation should reinforce it.

Yet, after 25 years, that has never happened.

And perhaps this is the most important question in the entire story.

🛑 Or perhaps the more uncomfortable question is this: what might an independent investigation reveal after 25 years?
