The Transparency International Italy, instead of answering the reasons why it never reported anything about my fight against the Italian oil giant, despite claiming to be an institution that defends whistleblowers, preferred to give me an advice and silence me. 

It advised me to stop with my personal quest to rescue and restore my name, my honor and my reputation, that are being denigrated and depreciated by Eni for almost 17 years. 

The intimidation came in a "threatening" tone (read the e-mail from the executive director). 

Now, Eni and TI Italy are holding hands to try to silence a Whistleblower!

The lesson of Agatha Christie for Eni

According to Agatha Christie, "one coincidence is just a coincidence, two coincidences are a clue, three coincidences are a proof". Therefore, the Italian oil giant has nothing against me: no coincidence nor proof!

I, as a Whistleblower (fulfilling the words and spirit of the Code of Ethics of Eni), has dozens of evidence. I have proof that this company, in all these almost 17 years, tries to intimidate me, to silence me and to annihilate me. And for that, it used cunning tricks like a "frivolous lawsuit" and "attacks" against my "honor"! (Read the details of my story with more than 50 supporting documents).

But I will never give up facing one of the most Corrupt and Unethical Companies in the corporate world. And these "qualities" of Eni are global public knowledge because the media always shows the mischiefs in the management of this company.

Everyone knows that the Italian "great media", hardly ever, give "negative" news about the Italian oil giant. The millionaire advertisement dollars forcing the silence of the journalists.

Recently, the Italian parliamentarians approved a "Whistleblower Protection Law". Two institutions based in Italy, the "Riparte il Futuro" and "Transparency International" were also responsible for the approval by putting "pressure" on the Senators.

I am a whistleblower! I know that my story is not unique! But I am the only whistleblower who has been fighting one of the TOP 20 companies for over 16 years! I am the only whistleblower who had their story published in the first "investigative book" that became a "best-seller" in Italy. I am the only whistleblower who presented their story at the "Shareholder's Meeting" of the company that continues to act with retaliation against me!

The Italian media not publishing my story is something natural... But, the Riparte il Futuro and Transparency International - "which claim to defend whistleblowers" - is something unbelievable and unfortunate.

Are these institutions cowards or were they also bought by Eni?

You felt in your own skin the weight of the paw of the Italian oil giant. Like me, you have been "slandered" and "defamated". However, the "truth" about your "integrity of conduct" has emerged from the unethical mire that is the management of Eni. But, this truth, didn't appear from the investigations made by the company's "compliance area" nor from the "Italian newspapers", but from investigations made by the "Italian Public Prosecutor's Office". 

You know my story!!! We were together in Brazil shortly before you asked for your resignation from the Board of Eni (see our e-mail on the image below). 

My story is the true!!! But my "truth: will only show up if you blow the whistle, if you sound the alarm!!! If you have the courage to be a "whistleblower" like I was, you will do me "justice" after these long 16 years of fight against the six-legged dog which has as a primary goal: "to rescue and restore my name, my honor and my reputation" that are being unfairly depreciated and denigrated to this day.

Eni is the greatest shame!

Recent events show that, unfortunately, the Italian oil giant Eni is the greatest shame, not only for Italian citizens and government, but especially for the global corporate world that is pursuing Ethical Excellence in conducting business and having the Integrity, the Transparency, the Compliance and the Governance as core Values. 

Eni walks contrary to the global market and, moreover, the company kills its whistleblowers!

You know my story! You know that my story is true! Fifteen days before you presented your renounce to the Board of Eni, we were face to face here in Brazil.

God has placed in your hands the power to make justice after these almost 17 years of fight against Eni to rescue and restore my name, my honor and my reputation.

Ms. Gabanelli: My case is very similar!

This intimidating attitude, to try to silence its opponents, is in Eni's DNA!!!

In 2013, an investigative reporter from Italian TV RAI, Ms. Milena Gabanelli, showed the company's corrupt management in her TV Program: REPORT. The result: Eni opened a lawsuit of 25 million Euro for slander and defamation. However, a colleague from her profession, made an electronic petition at Change.org, in defense of the journalist, and obtained over 150 thousands of signatures. Eni changed its mind and ended the lawsuit.

In 2010, Eni decided to file a civil lawsuit in the Court of Rome against me and the Brazilian Business Ethics Institute - an institution I founded in 2003 to promote Ethics in the business and student world - demanding an indemnity of 15 million Euros for damage caused by my libel or slander.

Open Letter to the CEO of Eni

Dear Mr. Claudio Descalzi,

Just like your predecessors in the cockpit of the Italian oil giant, Mr. Vittorio Mincato (2001-2005) and Mr. Paolo Scaroni (2005-2014), you have neglected the primary obligation of a CEO: being the "Guardian of Ethics", inside and outside the company walls, fulfilling - and demanding it - the words and spirit of the Code of Ethics.

You know that I am a "whistleblower" that still suffers and faces the retaliations of Eni since 2001 and to this day! You also know that I've always spoken the truth! I, unlike the six-legged dog, have dozens and dozens of documents that support what I say! So much so that, in 2016, after almost 5 years of research, two of the most respectable Italian journalists launched the first book regarding the company's performance: "Eni: The Parallel State" and included in this investigative work "our" story! This literary work was such a success in Italy that, in just a few months, it became a "best seller".

Do you have any doubts regarding my honest, fair and ethical professional and personal performance when I made a complaint to the company's internal channels about a millionaire scheme of internal fraud and corruption at Eni's Brazilian subsidiary? It's very simple to solve this! Request an "independent audit", with the help of your staff, to conduct an "investigation" about my case!

I hope you are a worthy and honorable man, a professional of integrity and character, and that will do what needs to be done regarding my case! Only in that way, you will show to the market and to the Stakeholders that Eni's Code of Ethics holds "value" for the company and is the "compass" for all Eni's employees, including and, mainly, for you!

If you do the right thing, I have no doubts that your family would be even prouder of you!
