Calculated and conscious attitudes

During these nearly 24 long years, the actions of the Italian oil giant Eni were intentionally malicious, cruel, and unjust, always aimed at causing me harm and suffering. These actions reflect a complete lack of empathy and reveal a degradation of ethical standards. In a calculated and deliberate manner, Eni acted with the purpose of harming me, completely disregarding the values of respect, integrity, and justice, as well as its corporate commitments, including its Code of Ethics, and international commitments "accepted" and "followed" by the company, such as the "OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises", the "UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights", and the "Global Compact".

Eni awarded “SLAPP Addict of the Year 2025”

With great symbolism - and no small amount of irony - the Italian oil giant Eni has just been named “SLAPP Addict of the Year”, in an event organized by a European coalition that denounces the abusive use of lawsuits to silence critics, journalists, and human rights defenders: The Coalition against SLAPPs in Europe (CASE).

In the video, Greenpeace Nederland representatives share how they were sued by Eni - even when their reports didn’t mention the company at all. Other lawsuits against organizations like Greenpeace Italia, ReCommon, and numerous environmental groups were also mentioned. The number and pattern of lawsuits earned Eni this (not-so-honorable) award as the undisputed champion of retaliatory litigation.

💥 What few people know is that I myself am a direct victim of three of these SLAPP actions, all filed by Eni against me:
➡️ One in 2010,
➡️ Another in 2017,
➡️ And the most recent, in 2022
All for defamation and slander, in retaliation for my efforts to seek justice and reparation.

Since 2001, I’ve been fighting to reclaim and restore my name, my honor, and my reputation, which have been systematically undermined by Eni through years of retaliatory practices. A symbolic example of this occurred in 2017, when Eni, responding to a public question from its critical shareholder Mauro Meggiolaro (Banca Etica), published on its website a demonstrably false version of my dismissal, in the document titled “Questions and Answers before the Shareholders’ Meeting”.

I went from whistleblower to villain!? But the truth always finds its way to the surface.

Eni, what is the cost of a lie?

For almost 25 long years, Eni has walked a dangerous path. At this moment, the company is treading on dangerous ground due to its secrets and lies against me.

Notice that when the truth about my dismissal compromised Eni, the company began lying repeatedly, to the point of losing sight of the truth. But it is still a lie! And that is exactly how I was dismissed from Agip do Brasil and have suffered retaliation from Eni all these years... Lies!

I must confess that, for more than two decades, I have been so focused on proving to the Italian oil giant the truth about my dismissal that I failed to realize that Eni never really wanted to find the truth. However, the truth has always been within the company: in the whistleblowing files of the Internal Audit Department, in the drawers of the executives handling my case, and in the agendas of the Board of Directors' meetings - despite Eni continuing to pretend not to see the truth.

Also, note that the truth does not care about people. The truth does not care about organizations. The truth lurks, waiting as long as necessary, to one day emerge, to one day be revealed.

As I have demonstrated and proven over all these years, Eni has distorted, manipulated, and feared the cost of the truth, whether reputational or financial. But I ask: 'What is the cost of a lie?'.

Every lie Eni tells about me increases its debt to the truth. And as always happens, sooner or later, in one way or another, that debt will be collected and will have to be paid".
