After the public statements made by two witnesses, the reconstruction of this story moves on to a different kind of evidence.
Audio recordings made at the time the events took place, preserved over the past twenty-five years.
These conversations were never intended for public disclosure.
They were recorded at a time when I sought to preserve my personal safety, protect my family, and document events that I considered significant.
The individuals involved were employees of Eni's Brazilian subsidiary.
Each held a different position within the company.
Each had a different perspective on the organization.
Even so, their statements reveal a remarkable degree of consistency.
🔹 In one of the conversations, my former subordinate, Mateus de Campos Martins, confirms that, after my dismissal, he was asked to collect from my residence the dossier containing the documentation I had compiled. During the conversation, he also states that, according to his understanding, the material merely confirmed what the company already knew.
🔹 In another recording, Rudnei Bernardo, then Regional Sales Manager for Porto Alegre, makes a statement that remains striking to this day:
📌 "Everyone knew, but no one had the courage to speak up".
🔹 Finally, Eduardo Monti, who worked at AGIP do Brasil's General Sales Management, refers to the visit made by senior management to Cuiabá and states:
📌 "He went there to cover everything up".
These recordings do not replace official documents.
Nor do they replace formal investigations.
However, they help provide context for what was taking place within the company at that time.
Like the notarized witness statements presented earlier, they are records produced by different individuals, performing different roles and speaking from different perspectives.
That is precisely why, twenty-five years later, I continue to ask for the same thing:
